William Kurk is a site superintendent/site foreman with extensive experience in managing people, handing projects and keeping the project expenses in check. He has been working in the fields of construction, infrastructure, and environmental projects for a wide range of clients that have included government as well as private sector clients. According to Mr. Kurk, working on construction/demolition projects is often a stressful task and it needs complete understanding within a team to ensure that everything goes as planned. In these projects, even small problems can have major consequences; which leaves absolutely no margin for error on part of the people involved with the project.
Through the years, William Kurk has worked with crews of up to 50 in highway/pipeline construction. He has also supervised teams in placing and finishing concrete, concrete piling from 12”-72” and a variety of other construction/demolition projects. He manages his teams with complete transparency to ensure dedication and efficient efforts from all members of the team. This way of management has allowed him to always complete projects on time, on budget and in the most efficient manner possible.
As a construction project manager, William Kurk has handled day to day operations for large commercial and industrial construction projects. His responsibilities during these projects included forming structural steel placement, placing and finishing to customer specifications including building roads, pipeline repairs, pile drilling and placement. He also supervised operations of heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, skid steer and Texoma 700 drill rig. He also managed all phases of environmental remediation and pre-engineered buildings (budgets of up to $4.5M). He has consistently exceeded margin goals as well as client expectations throughout the time that he handled these projects. In his career, he has managed over 75 million in commercial projects and presently, he has also worked as prime contractor on Alberta’s largest oil spill in Red Earth, Alberta. |
